After a well-recieved first season, FX Networks was looking to broaden the audience for this off-beat superhero episodic. I led a team that designed a lovely creative package to run across Social and the Web; all while working closely with the client and publishing partners to ensure a flawless premiere.
The end of season one left fans with a massive cliffhanger – David, the key protagonist was zapped into an orb and carried away to parts unknown. I decided to focus on this key plot point to remind fans why they need to tune-in. I re-created the orb in 3D and used greenscreen footage of talent to beam David off of sites across the campaign.
The Orb in Action.
The broader digital marketing campaign extended across paid social as well as desktop and mobile publishers. I helped strategize and create ads to run on multiple partner sites and made sure the implentation of the creative was consistent and on-brand.
I spent weeks designing and coordinating with the team at Spotify on this fantastic feature called Your Mind on Music. The feature was designed to analyze fan generated playlists and use a stunning 3D interface to show listeners what parts of their brain were likely being stimulated by their selected tracks. Sadly, as these things sometimes go this feature had to be scrapped late in the process. It was, however, a fun idea with ideal partners and worth memorializing here.
